LFP chemistry

Lithium iron phosphate runs cooler, tolerates abuse better and lasts longer than the nickel chemistries used in most consumer packs. No cobalt in the supply chain.

6,000 cycles

One full cycle a day for sixteen years still leaves the pack above 80% of its original capacity. Warranted for ten.

Stack as you go

Start with one 5 kWh module and add more later. The controller re-balances the stack automatically — no re-engineering, no forklift upgrade.

Peak shaving

On a commercial bill, demand charges often outweigh energy charges. A cabinet that discharges for two hours a day can rewrite that line item.

How a project comes together

Measure, model, size, install.

We would rather quote a system that is right than a system that is large. That starts with data from the site itself.

  • 1. Measure. A 565 Sense monitor records two to four weeks of real load and demand.
  • 2. Model. We run your utility tariff against that data to find where the money actually is.
  • 3. Size. Capacity and power rating come out of the model, not out of a catalog page.
  • 4. Install. Your electrician or ours, with drawings, a submittal package and commissioning support.
  • 5. Watch. Remote monitoring confirms the system is doing what the model said it would.

Common questions

Before you specify storage

How long will a 565 Vault run my house?
It depends entirely on what you keep running. A 15 kWh Vault 15 typically carries a refrigerator, lighting, networking, a well pump and a few outlets for well over a day. Add air conditioning or electric heat and that falls to hours. This is exactly why we ask for metered data before quoting — your actual overnight consumption is a number we can measure rather than estimate.
Can I add capacity later?
Yes, within the same stack. Vault modules are designed to be added to an existing installation, and the controller rebalances the stack automatically. Mixing a new module with modules several years old is supported but reduces the usable capacity of the newer unit slightly, so adding sooner is better than adding later.
Does it work with solar I already have?
In most cases, yes. An existing grid-tied string or microinverter array can be AC-coupled to a Vault system through the Wave Hybrid 8K. New installations are usually DC-coupled through the Hybrid's MPPT inputs, which is a little more efficient. Send us the model of your existing inverter and we will tell you which route applies.
What happens during a grid outage?
With a Wave Hybrid 8K, the system transfers to backup in under ten milliseconds — fast enough that computers and network gear stay up. The protected loads run from the battery, and solar continues to recharge it during daylight. Whether that covers your whole panel or a subpanel of essential circuits is a design decision made at install time.
Is LFP safer than other lithium batteries?
Lithium iron phosphate has a substantially higher thermal runaway threshold than the nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry used in most EVs and consumer electronics, and it does not release oxygen as it breaks down. Combined with cell-level monitoring in the BMS and, on the commercial cabinets, detection and suppression, it is the chemistry we are comfortable putting in a garage.
