The system
You see one clean dashboard. Behind it, the Shield Brain unites your legacy alarm sensors, modern smart-home devices, and hardwired equipment—running them all locally from inside your home.
The central controller at the heart of the property. It features an integrated status display, an automatic backup battery for instant failover during outages, a physical tamper switch, and a dedicated 12V siren output. The mobile app and wall tablet communicate with the Brain directly over your local network, while the 565 Energy cloud handles remote notifications and emergency dispatch.

Systems working together
Standalone apps cannot coordinate in an emergency. Because one Brain controls every subsystem, these cross-system responses execute locally in seconds—even if your internet connection is severed. These automated scenarios build directly on the security core running today.
The siren sounds, every interior and exterior light turns on, cameras begin recording, and your phone prompts you immediately: Cancel, or Send help now?
Fire protection stays active 24/7, even when disarmed. The HVAC blower shuts off immediately so smoke isn’t circulated through the ductwork, and interior lights illuminate to guide everyone safely outside.
The motorized main water valve closes, outdoor sprinklers pause, and your phone receives an immediate alert—day or night, armed or disarmed.
The security system arms itself to Away, the thermostat shifts to energy-saving settings, and idle outlets power down automatically.
EV charging pauses until cheaper off-peak hours, non-essential outlets switch off, and the pool pump runs exclusively on off-peak power or surplus solar.
The Brain switches seamlessly to internal battery backup, notifies you of the outage, keeps essential circuits running, and staggers heavy pump restarts one at a time when grid power returns.

The decision engine
Working today: Threat levels L1 through L3 operate end-to-end today, along with L5 duress. Entering a duress code looks identical to a standard disarm at the keypad while silently transmitting a top-priority emergency alert. Levels L4 and L5 expand automatically as camera AI and multi-zone detection come online.
The event type dictates who responds: verified break-ins route to police or central monitoring, fire and CO route to the fire service, and water leaks alert the homeowner. Panic and duress bypass the queue.
Unenrolled sensors are ignored so neighboring sensors never trigger an alarm. Confirmation requires two distinct devices, preventing a single repeating sensor from counting twice.
An active alarm is never dropped or quietly downgraded. Entering your PIN during the entry countdown resolves the event locally at home before the cloud is engaged.

Shield’s power features are built on the 565 Energy hardware ecosystem—so the same app that protects your home also measures circuit-level energy, charges your EV, and backs up your house during an outage.
